| Angelholm is a Federal-period home build in
1805 on historic Phinney's Farm, now in the heart of Cooperstown. Phinney's Farm later
became famous as the site of the first playing of Abner Doubleday's new game,
"Baseball." Today, Angelholm's backyard and Doubleday Field have common
boundaries, and the sounds of the crack of the bat and cheering of the fans can be heard
softly through the ancient trees. Located just one block off of Main Street in a quiet
residential section in the heart of Cooperstown, Angelholm offers the perfect combination
of convenience and quiet comfort. The National Baseball Hall of Fame, Lake Otsego, Art
Galleries, restaurants, and a variety of gift shopping are all within easy walking
distance. And with our off-street parking, you can leave your cars and cares behind while
you enjoy our lovely village. Guest Rooms Angelholm offeres five guest rooms. Each room has its own particular charm and appeal. All rooms have private ensuite bath and air conditioning. Doubleday Room is a large corner room in the rear of the house. It is bright, cheerful room with a king size bed and floral print wallpaper and draperies. (King bed can become twin beds as needed.) Of special interest to the avid baseball fan is the view of historic Doubleday Field and Stadium from the rear window. Ann's Cabbage Rose Room, named for Jan's mother's favorite flower, is a center room with wall covering that carries off its name. A queen size bed, antique dresser and reading chair offer comfort and period charm that make this room especially relaxing. Elihu Phinney Room is located in the right front corner of the house, in its oldest section. A lovely cherrywood four poster queen size bed and colonial-blue "board and batten" walls combine elegance and comfort without disturbing the sensation of returning to our heritage.
The Roby Mae Room, located in the left front corner of the house, also boasts historic "board and batten" walls. Antique king size four-poster bed can become twin beds as needed.
