Kinloch Lodge, Isle of Skye
Kinloch dates back to the early 1600’s and is the home of Lord and Lady Macdonald. Lord Macdonald is the High Chief of Clan Donald, the oldest and largest of the Highland clans.

Kinloch is full of paintings of his ancestors, antique furniture, family ornaments and photographs – very much a family home with two comfortable drawing rooms, log fires and the most spectacular views. The ten bedrooms, all comfortably appointed and individually decorated, vary in size and this is reflected in the tariff.
The décor throughout is the choice of Lady Macdonald, as is the food, for Claire Macdonald is one of the most renowned cooks and food enthusiasts in Scotland. An award-winning journalist and author of twelve best selling cookbooks, Claire has for last twenty years produced the most delicious food, seasonal to Scotland. Everything is homemade and accounts for Kinloch’s enviable international reputation over two decades.  During Summer and Autumn, Lady Macdonald will be doing a series of cooking demonstrations, do please ask for fuller details.
The house itself is a mile from the main road, at the head of sea loch, amidst an area famous for its flora and fauna. Otters inhabit the sea shore and eagle soar in the mountains behind. Kinloch is unique in every way – from the tranquillity of its surroundings, the clean, pure air through to the delicious peaty water which comes from the spring behind the house.
Kinloch Lodge
Kinloch Lodge was not built as a Hotel with the result that the ten bedrooms do vary considerably in size and outlook. This accounts for the very real difference in price. Although some of the rooms are small and do not have sea views they are still comfortable and as well appointed as the others. In addition, our guests are encouraged to make full use of our two drawing rooms which have the most spectacular views. Please let us know your preference when making your reservation.
