The guest rooms have been restored to their original country warmth and simplicity with select antique furnishings, fluffy comforters and pillows, and hand-stenciled wooden bath floors. Each guest room has an adjoining and well-appointed private bath. Built as an annex to the thriving Lake House Resort in 1906, the building passed through several owners in the years since the Lake House closed.

In June, 1988, the completely refurbished annex was opened once again to the public as the Inn at Long Lake. In keeping with the period of high river travel that was popular when the annex was built, the Inn is decorated as a showcase of history and charm, yet has the modern amenities that today's traveler wants. Purchased by Maynard and Irene Hincks in 1990, the reputation of the Inn has grown as the Hincks are directly involved with the every-day operation of the Inn to insure their guests receive the extra attention and care they deserve. The friendly and experienced staff of the Inn will be pleased to assist you with your plans as you explore each of the four seasons in the heart of Maine's picturesque countryside. In the morning, before your day's journey begins, a complimentary continental breakfast of muffins or danish, juice, fresh fruit cup, a variety of cold and hot cereals as well as freshly brewed coffees and teas is served in the Great Room, or enjoy a leisurely and intimate breakfast in the comfort of your own room.

Our Rooms

Cozy Deluxe: Greenlake, Whirlwind & Waterwitch These rooms (one with twins and two with a full size four poster bed) are a little smaller than our comfortable deluxe rooms, but are equally charming with private baths with shower, portable color TVs and air conditioning in season. Comfortable Deluxe: Adelaire, Washington & Speedwell These three rooms, each with a queen bed, are located on the second and third floors. Each is very attractively decorated and a little larger but similarly equipped as the cozy deluxe rooms. Standard Deluxe: Ethel Ada, Freeport, Gazelle & Forest City These four rooms (one with twins and three with a queen size bed) are very pretty, popular rooms with larger bathrooms than the cozy or the comfortable deluxe rooms and are located on the second and third floors. Each also has all the amenities of the smaller rooms.

Top Floor Deluxe: Snow Squall, Old Jack, Cumberland & Oxford More spacious, quieter top floor rooms with reading area and large bathroom with a tub and shower. Adjacent library area on this floor provides additional common area for guests. Two-Room Suites: Songo & Sebago Our suites (one on each the second and third floors) have an inner room with a queen size bed and a sitting room with a sofa that pulls out into a full size bed--ideal for a family with small children. There is a small bathroom with a shower in the inner room. Great Room: A large 36' x 36' room on the ground floor, with a wonderful fieldstone fireplace, where a deluxe continental breakfast is served. The warm inviting atmosphere of this room makes it ideal for intimate groups--retreats, weddings, receptions, murder mysteries, especially with adjacent porch and relaxing views. Note: All guest rooms are located on the three floors above the ground floor and there is no elevator.

Family Accommodations
Angels Only The Inn at Long Lake welcomes children but we have an "Angels Only" policy. Most children that stay with us are very well behaved; but because we are a more formal place than most, we know that we're not for all families. Irene and I ask you to be the judge when considering a stay with us. When you do come, we'll register your children in our "Angels Only" guest book.
Our Family Accommodations Are As Follows:
Two Room Suite: Sitting room has sofa sleeper that works well for couples with one or two small children. The bathroom, however, is small with a shower and located in the inner room. There is no extra charge for children under sixteen in this room. Regular room rates apply.	Two Adjacent Rooms: Parents stay in room with queen bed while children stay next door in a room with twin beds or a double bed. Ideal for families with older children--two bathrooms, two TVs and yet they're right next door. Special rates for this package--Winter: $120/night, Spring/Fall: $125, and Summer: $160 (plus taxes). This rate is not available on summer weekends and is subject to availability. Portacrib and rollaways available in top floor rooms only, at an extra cost.

Special Discounts

AAA Members--A 10% discount off the full room rate. Senior Citizens (60 years or older)--A 10% discount off the full room rate. Good Neighbor Discount Card--A 10%-25% discount off full room rates to area residents, their families and friends (except summer weekends). Note: Holiday/Special Packages are exceptions to the rates above.

Policies

All rates are for double occupancy. Single occupancy receives a ten percent discount. Extra person charge of $12 due for each person in a room over the age of sixteen. Porta crib ($5pn) and rollaways ($15pn) available. Rollaways for top floor only. Two night minimum is required on summer weekends and other holiday weekends. Check-in time is between 3:00 p.m. and 8;00 p.m. Earlier or later arrivals must be prearranged with the Inn staff. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. During July and August, early check-ins are impossible because we are so busy. A deluxe continental breakfast is included with the price of the room. Sorry, pets are not allowed. We are a non-smoking inn, but smoking is allowed on our veranda. Reservations require 50% deposit or credit card number. MC, Visa and Discover accepted. Cancellation Policy: Full refund if canceled ten days prior to arrival date. Luggage: Guests are responsible for their own luggage and should plan accordingly. Reservations recommended

Murder Mystery Weekends During the off-season, when people are looking for something different to do, we host MURDER MYSTERY weekends that our guests say are one of the most enjoyable getaways they've ever experienced--sometimes hilarious, sometimes outrageous, but always fun! We offer both one night and two night MURDER MYSTERY adventures. Irene and I consider the two night event more fun because you really relax and enjoy the ambiance of the Inn and each other. Everyone takes part--each cast in a role with the freedom to dress the part as much or little as (s)he wishes, though costumes increase the fun!
